What a crazy year it was for my family and me.
Starting in February, this year has been our toughest journey, from welcoming our first baby girl, Emma, into the world to having her pass away in our arms two days later. It was a traumatic experience that has left us on an emotional roller coaster from which we have yet to depart.
As a result of that journey, I’ve encountered innumerable revelations about my own personal growth. Not only have I grown in empathy and become more kind-hearted, but the stories of others in their individual tales have significantly inspired me. It is a privilege to be invited into the narratives of so many.
The power of art can easily be overlooked in our lives, yet it has the ability to move us far beyond what we ever thought possible. Through artwork, we are able to share a piece of ourselves with complete strangers who understand and connect on an emotional level. The art we chose to have in our homes is a reflection of life experiences that captures us right at our core.
Most importantly, I’ve come to understand the importance of investing time in those we love. Life is short and it’s important to take advantage of every moment available to us. Each day should be an opportunity to show our friends, family and even strangers how much they mean to us.
Through this difficult year, my heart has grown bigger than ever before. I am so grateful for all the love and support given to me during this time, and it has only made me more determined to share that same selflessness with others. Life is precious and should be appreciated in each moment.
Living life through love and connecting with one another is my biggest takeaway from 2022. It has opened my eyes to the power of compassion and empathy, and I will never forget the lessons learned. February has been a difficult yet meaningful chapter in our lives, and it is one I will never forget.
We should always be prepared for unexpected turns of life that come our way, because amidst them we are able to appreciate all that we have. Here’s to the endurance of love and life in 2023!
As I share my photographic journey of 2022, I wish that the year will bring you peace, joy, health and all the blessings one can ever wish for!

Your photography is clear and presentable as if they were gladiolus edging an amusement parks walkways. Keep making us smile.
Aw, thanks Karen!
I enjoy your beautiful art. Thank you for sharing the beauty of this world with people who either love the scene already of would never see it otherwise. If you ever get to Roads End in Kings’ Canyon, be sure to photograph Muir Rock from the river’s edge. God bless you and your family and the work of your hands.
Thanks Patty! I’ll be sure to check that out.
Wishing you all the beauty and love life can provide in the coming year. Praying you find peace in knowing your art provides such joy to those fortunate enough to be able to be blessed with your visions of the world surrounding us. God bless you and yours. 🙏❤️🩹
Thank you Theresa!
